The joys of having children...

Completely and utterly mortified. It's been a long time since I was so embarrased that I just wanted to curl up and die. Viv got sick on Friday at the sitter. She was fine all morning and then at lunch time she wouldn't eat. She had a little bit of milk and on her way to go to the bathroom she ended up throwing up everywhere. So Al went and got her and brought her home. The poor thing was running a fever so Al gave her some tylenol but she still threw up 3 more times. That night though she ate dinner and held it down. Saturday morning she had a fever but 20 minutes after giving her some more tylenol it was gone and she was acting fine. She even ate. In the afternoon we went to my cousin's 2nd birthday party (2nd cousin) and she played and was having a blast. After being there for 2 hours though she started to get really docile and pretty soon she was burning up again so we took her home. She laid down for her nap and slept for 3 hours and when she got up she was fine again. Sunday morning she got up and was fine. No fever and she was acting normal. She had some milk and then we went to IHOP for breakfast. We were sitting at the table getting ready to order when all of a sudden Viv looks at me and says "Get out...need out...need out!" I thought she just wanted to run around the restaurant so I said no. She again started yelling at me she needed to get out of the booth then she pointed to her mouth. That's when it clicked. I grabbed her and got out of the booth. Of course we were on the opposite side of the restaurant in the corner so we got about 1/2 way to the bathroom when she threw up, twice, all over the floor, right in the aisle of tables, in front of a crowded restaurant. I was completely stunned and like I said...wanted to die. I didn't look up at anybody. I was too embarrassed. All I heard was someone behind me say "I'll take care of it" so I grabbed her and raced the rest of the way to the bathroom. Once we got there though she was once again fine. I stayed in the bathroom for over 15 minutes. Partly because I wanted to make sure she wasn't going to get sick again and partly because I was trying to get up the courage to walk back through the restaurant. I know Viv couldn't help it. Finally we went back to the table. Our food was there and Al had no idea what had happened. The waitress came by to see if we needed the food heated up but I just told her to get us some boxes and our check. Viv of course wanted to eat her breakfast. We boxed everything up and got out of there as quickly as we could. I think it will be a very long time before I can step foot in that IHOP again. Maybe when Viv is 20.

Oh hun! I'm sorry! I'm sure everyone understood though.
