This has literally been the first time in 2 weeks that I have had a chance to breathe. Work has been completely crazy. We moved offices last Friday and on top of it all I've taken on another executive to support and I've become the office manager for our new office. Needless to say I've been so busy by the time I get home (late every night) I'm so exhausted all I want to do is sleep and then I have to get up and do it all over again. Definitely be careful what you wish for. I was so bored 2 months ago and now I'm buried. At least the work is better and my new bosses are SO much better than my old one. I told the COO (the executive I took on recently) that if I had not moved on to a new boss I would have quit. He completely understood.
On a good note our new office is awesome. For the first couple of days it was hard only because the cubicle walls are about 6 ft tall and walking around felt like you were in a labyrinth. I got lost a couple of times. :) Anyway, my area is huge and I'm away from the general population which I love. I can listen to my music and I'm not bothered. The building itself has the best cafeteria ever. They have so many different options and they are open for breakfast and lunch. The prices are great too. We also have a Starbucks in the building which is cool. The drive originally was going to take me an hour and 15 minutes but I found a back way that gets me here in 45 minutes so it isn't too bad. I thought I would hate the drive but it really isn't bothering me.
Al LOVES his new job. Though I don't think he ever works. Today he had some client meeting to go to and when they got done at 1PM he was able to leave. Talk about rough. He has yet to work 40 hours...meanwhile I'm working close to 50. BLAH! The old CEO is driving me crazy. He emailed me this morning to do something and I emailed back that I didn't have time. He then emailed me asking what I was doing that was keeping me busy! Um, HELLO! I'm doing 3 people's jobs right now! Give me a break.
Oh, and I forgot, the company decided they are going to provide free beverages for the employees. Water, pop, coffee. Speaking of which I'm going to go grab a Diet Coke...mmmm tasty. :)
The building is so huge though. My feet are killing me by the end of the day. I'm not allowed to wear tennis shoes but I'm definitely going to have to figure something out. These flats aren't cutting it.
